Common questions

12 questions
How do I get started?

Install Zdraft on your Mac, move it to Applications, and open it. Sign in under Settings → Account using the same email as on this website and start with Free. Zdraft requires macOS 14 or later.

How do I open the writing workspace?

Open Zdraft from the Dock, Applications, or its menu bar icon. Use Command-Tab to switch back to it. Move and resize the window as you like; Zdraft remembers its position. Open a message in its own writing window when you want more room.

What does Polish do?

Polish rewrites the current message and applies the result directly. Undo polish restores the original while the result is unchanged; use Command-Z to undo later edits. Review the wording before using it.

How do translation results work?

Choose a language and style, then translate the current message. Zdraft offers two complementary, editable results. A successful translation with two results counts as one writing action.

Why are inline suggestions not appearing?

Check that you are signed in, Completion is enabled, and you have remaining allowance. The cloud service must also be available. For supported fields in other apps, macOS Accessibility permission is needed. Password fields, excluded apps, and unsupported fields are skipped.

What counts toward my daily allowance?

Polish and Translate share the writing allowance. Completion has its own allowance. Successful writing actions and nonempty completion suggestions count once; failed, cancelled and empty requests only count toward request-attempt limits. Both allowances reset every day at 00:00 UTC and do not roll over. Account shows your remaining allowance and reset time.

How do I subscribe to Plus?

Sign in and choose Upgrade to Plus in your account. Plus is $5.00 USD per month with higher daily writing and completion allowances. Your first payment is due at checkout, and the subscription renews monthly until cancelled. Check Price for the included allowances and manage your subscription from Account.

Does Plus remove service capacity limits?

Plus increases your personal writing and completion allowances. It does not remove shared service capacity, daily attempt limits, or temporary throttling. If the service is at capacity, wait until it becomes available again.

Where are my drafts stored?

Your drafts, sessions, archives, and preferences are stored on your Mac. Your account manages access and usage; it does not synchronize drafts between devices. Polish, Translate, and Completion send the text they need to cloud services.

Will signing out delete my drafts?

No. Signing out of the website leaves your Mac drafts intact. Deleting an account removes its server-side account, sessions, and membership; local drafts and archive history remain on the Mac.

Does inline completion work in other apps?

Yes, in supported text fields across your Mac. Enable macOS Accessibility permission for Zdraft, then type as usual. Press Tab to accept the next suggested word. You can pause Completion for one app or for all apps. Password fields and unsupported fields are skipped.

What happens if I cancel Plus?

Use Cancel renewal in Account to stop future subscription charges. Once cancellation is confirmed, Plus remains available until the access end date shown in Account, then your account returns to Free. Your local drafts and archive stay on your Mac.
